Utah Shakespearean Festival - Cedar City, UT.

Original Music and Sound Design:

Coriolanus  2007

Director Henry Woronicz
Scenic Designer Bill Forrester
Costume Designer Claudia Stephens
Lighting Designer Donna Ruzika

Music by Joe Payne ©2007.  Brass fanfares by Christine Frezza for previous seasons at the festival.

An energetic production, with emphasis on the throngs of citizens, who can easily be persuaded when in a mob atmosphere.  The battles stole some ideas from the film 300, which gave a great sense of organized tactics, and big action freezes.  Most of the score was percussion, but there were a few moments in the show that were meant to be elegantly simple with tonal sound, simple melody lines, and percussion accents.
